The magnet power supply control system for high energy photon source

  • Purpose More than 2500 magnet power supplies are strategically placed throughout the HEPS accelerator. A remote control system of the power supplies is critical to enhance beam orbit stablity and light source performance in HEPS, with high precision, high reliability, and high stability.
Methods The system employs a star network topology and virtualization technology, utilizing the Modbus protocol to control the power supply system. PVE serves as the platform for virtualization technology, while LXC is utilized to run EPICS IOCs for power supply control and interfacing with other systems.
Results and Conclusion The remote control system for the accelerator magnet power supply in HEPS has been operational since July 2024, demonstrating its reliability and availability. Future work will focus on further optimization and expansion of system functionalities.
